Face the Void

Manuel Abratte

--

Face the void,

Open to the vacant.

Perch upon the abyss,

And peek on the uncertain.

Walk through relentlessly,

Break cloudy walls ahead.

With the shade casting from your body,

And the steaming breath as friends.

Carry your own weight

Through highlands and canyons;

With your thoughts as warm refuge,

And yourself as sole companion.

Look fiercely into the emptiness,

And down the road you follow.

Do not be afraid of hanging

By the thread of fears and sorrow.

Despair not; learn the lesson as you stumble.

Wait and see the smoke clear;

You are not the only one

Who is wandering with his shadow.

Recreate in the daily challenge.

Fail, joy and horror,

It is all there,

For you to puzzle over,

For you to keep on going,

Through day, night and morrow.

Like a game in a fair,

Give the try.

Feel the minutes burning time,

Sense the years in your hair;

It is just a play of passing by

For you to rejoice in the affair.
